About The Department
Engineering Course: Duration is 4 years. The course is divided into eight semesters, each of six months duration of which the first two semesters are combined. Students will have to appear for the first University examination at the end of the 2nd semester, in April. Thereafter, they will have to appear for a University examination (theory and practical) at the end of every semester i.e., in April and December.

Electronics and Instrumentation as one of the disciplines and strives to cater fully to the entire needs of instrumentation industry, be it fertilizer and chemicals, cement paper, sugar, power generation or petrochemical in nature to their construction, maintenance, production, design and development and consultancy activities. Many of our instrumentation engineers are enjoying their best placements in India and abroad. Many entrepreneurs from the industries come every year to absorb our technocrafts for placements in their industries and we are also proud to learn that all are extremely well off.
Laboratories
Computer Control of Process Laboratory
This laboratory is used for undergraduate Instrumentation students. It involves simulation of programs and circuits using MATLAB, ladder logic design in PLC, Supervisory control and Monitoring using SCADA and DCS.
The laboratory is equipped with the necessary hardware and software for experimenting and for research purpose of the students.
Process Control Laboratory
This lab contains well equipped hardware equipments which are controlled by PC. The lab also includes softwares like Green Series, PID Controller and SCADA.
Industrial Instrumentation Laboratory
Industrial Instrumentation laboratory trains the students in a better way for an introduction to industry. This lab trains the students in various industrial oriented measurements like calibration of flow transmitter, pressure transmitter, pressure gauge, torque measurement, viscosity measurement etc.
Transducer and Measurements Laboratory
This lab is to train the students in handling the different kinds of transducers like LVDT, Hall Effect, LDR, Thermocouple etc. The students can determine the characteristics for all transducers. They can calibrate all types of bridges and measuring devices.
Design Project Laboratory
In this lab students design their own circuits and implement in hardware which are practically applicable. The designs include important electronic circuits like Instrumentation amplifier, current to voltage converter, RTD etc. This lab helps the students to think innovatively.
Achievements:
•Students and Faculty members of the department have actively participated and conducted several workshops and symposiums. Department has organized a National level Technical Symposium INSTRUENZA’ 10 on 24 Sep 10
• Apart from curricular activities, our students have also participated and presented papers in technical symposiums and other design contests and one of our students has won 3rd prize in villgro my idea program
• III Year students have gone for Industrial Visit to FACTS, Udyogamandel, Kerala and 12 students have attended Inplant Training for a period of 10 days.
